Our Story

WorkHer Wear started 18 years ago when I realized no one was making workwear for me.

The Problem Nobody Was Solving

I've spent my career in construction, walking job sites, working alongside ironworkers, electricians, roofers, pipefitters, carpenters, and laborers. Women doing hard, skilled, physical work every single day.

And almost every one of them has the same story when it comes to workwear.

The hi vis vest that swims on her shoulders. The pants gap at the hips. The pockets, if you can call them that, won't fit half of what she has to hold. And if she finally finds a pair that fits reasonably well, the fabric starts falling apart in a few months.

I know because I lived it. For eighteen years I tried on countless pairs of work pants, layered on oversized high-visibility jackets, and searched for specialized clothing that simply didn't exist in women's sizing. I made do. We all made do.

But making do isn't good enough anymore.

Hi, I'm Jenna

I'm a construction safety and health consultant, woodworker, and founder of WorkHer Wear. I've spent 18 years working with construction companies across the United States, from civil contractors to building trades. I know this industry. I know these women. And I know exactly what's been missing.

The idea to start a women's workwear company has lived in the back of my mind since 2008. It would surface every time I couldn't find what I needed for a job, every time a woman I worked with complained about her pants, every time I watched the industry hand us a men's small and call it a solution.

Then one summer, sitting on the beach during a family vacation, I read Do Cool Shit by Miki Agrawal. I closed the book, turned to my wife Lauren, and said: "I'm going to start a women's workwear company." She didn't blink. She said go for it.

That was August 2024. WorkHer Wear LLC was formed by November. We haven't stopped since.

What We Found When We Asked

Before designing a single thing, I asked and listened. A market research survey of women in the trades told me what I already suspected and then some.

Over 90% of women in the trades are not satisfied with their current workwear options.

And when asked what matters most when buying work clothes, women ranked fit above function and above cost. Women in the trades aren't asking for something extraordinary. They are asking for workwear that was actually made for them.

I heard you and I've built it.

Introducing The Foundation Pant

The Foundation Pant is WorkHer Wear's flagship product. The Foundation pant is a utility style, straight-leg work pant built from cotton canvas with a durable water-repellent finish. Full-size pockets and enough of them to carry your phone, your tools, and still have room. A fit designed around how women are actually shaped not scaled down from a men's pattern.

Available in sizes 0 through 30 and growing! Because every woman on every job site deserves workwear that fits.

This is the pant I've always wanted and I built it myself!

What WorkHer Wear Stands For

Durability & Quality Built to last, just like the women who wear it. No cutting corners on fabric, construction, or fit. Every detail is intentional.

Innovation The workwear industry has done things the same way for a long time. It's time to change that.  Starting with the assumption that women deserve the same quality, utility, and thoughtfulness that has always gone into men's workwear.

Inclusivity Workwear for women means workwear for all women. Our size range starts at 0 and is growing towards a size 30. This is because the woman in a size 2 and the woman running in a size 22 both deserve a work pant that fits.

Empowerment Better gear is just the beginning. WorkHer Wear is building a community of women in the trades. A place to belong, be seen, and be supported. When women in the trades thrive, everyone wins.

You Belong Here

This is more than workwear. It's a community of women who show up, do the work, and deserve gear that does the same.

Whether you've been in the trades for twenty years or just started your apprenticeship, WorkHer Wear was built for you!

Welcome. I'm glad you're here.
